How can an ORM team reduce dependence on one information source?
In brief
Dependence becomes a concern when one narrow, obsolete, or wrong account shapes an important claim across the public record. The assessment considers what people encounter and how the account circulates through coverage, profiles, discussions, search, and AI descriptions.
A source map should distinguish independent reporting from syndication, quotation, and repeated summaries. Ten pages can still represent one original account. Repeated AI citations can show that a page is visible in tested answers, but they do not establish that it alone caused every conclusion or supplied the model's training information.
Use current official records for discrete facts such as an address or appointment. For broader questions, strengthen missing context through maintained company facts, relevant original work, and credible independent scrutiny. Assess how well those references explain and verify the subject, tracing copied material to its origin.
