How can internal terminology become a brand story audiences understand?
In brief
Internal terminology should be translated into the concrete service, process, or result it describes. A proprietary label is useful only when an unfamiliar reader can connect it with a recognizable need.
The review starts with the underlying activity: what happens, what information is used, what it produces, and who it helps. A phrase such as “intelligence layer” can refer to a data feed, an analyst’s assessment, or a software interface. The public explanation needs to resolve that ambiguity.
Where a distinctive term is retained, define it once in plain language and use it consistently. Product pages, executive commentary, documentation, and partner profiles should not assign incompatible meanings to the same name. Relevant examples show the difference from adjacent concepts.
Explain the subject explicitly so each excerpt retains its context when separated from a slide deck or surrounding marketing copy. Test the resulting excerpts against the questions readers and AI systems need to answer.
