Why does negative coverage remain visible after the original page is removed?

In brief

Removing an original page does not remove copies, quoted passages, screenshots, archives, or later reporting about it. Search can also continue showing the old URL until the changed state is processed. These are different remaining exposures and need to be assessed separately.

Map the missing page, live copies, and URLs that redirect to substantially similar content separately. Address an outdated search preview through its relevant update route and a live republished allegation through its publisher. Inspect pages that reference the removed article for independent claims before classifying them as duplicates.

Address the influential versions individually. Submit qualifying outdated results through the relevant refresh process and request corrections to live factual errors with supporting evidence. Add current context where historical reporting remains accurate. Check the user's query and the claims still surfaced in search or AI answers, then track how the remaining public account changes after deletion.
